This frustration led me to delve deeper, uncovering the true, systemic costs: excessive water usage, massive clothing waste in landfills, and unfair conditions for the people behind the seams. I also saw how the industry often relies on psychological manipulation, fostering impulse buying, unsustainable trends, and misleading pricing tactics. This realization sparked a profound personal shift in me. I decided to make conscious choices in my shopping habits, moving decisively away from these harmful practices. Instead, I chose to make decisions guided by my values, refusing to financially support a system that caused such widespread harm.
Having decided not to support these harmful practices any longer, my next step was to actively seek out small businesses and manufacturers that offered garments and practices that truly aligned with my newfound values. It was during this search that my lifelong love for art naturally intertwined with ethical apparel. I realized these very pieces could serve as unique canvases for the designs of artists I truly admired. At this moment, my passion for art and my commitment to ethical apparel became one.
